WHO IS JESUS?
Many people believe that the most important person that ever walked the earth was Jesus Christ. His life has impacted the world unlike any other person. What is it about Jesus that is so appealing to millions of people throughout history and in our world today that cause them to live their lives in His name?
It all starts with God’s love. The Bible tells that God created you on purpose and for a purpose. It is because of that love that God sent His son, Jesus, to earth. It was a supernatural birth; He was born of a virgin. Jesus lived a life without sin, yet He was sentenced to death by the government of his day. Jesus was brutally crucified and nailed to a cross. The Bible tells us that Jesus went willingly to the cross so that He could pay the price for each persons sins. He died and was buried in a grave for three days. On the third day, Jesus was raised to life again. His resurrection means that you and I no longer have to live with fear of death but can have certainty of eternal life with Jesus in Heaven.
We each must come to the realization that we are a sinner and are in need of Savior. Our sin separates us from God. We cannot make things right on our own, no matter how hard we try. That is why we each need a Savior, we need Jesus, to make things right between us and God. Jesus gave His life for you, so that you can live a life of victory and be confident in eternal life after death.
SALVATION
Once we realize we need a Savior, the Bible makes the path to salvation clear.
John 3:16-17 God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life. God sent his Son into he world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
PRAYER OF SALVATION
Today, right now, you can take a moment to ask Jesus to become your Lord and Savior. You can experience the peace and hope that He brings. If you are ready to take your first step with Jesus, you can begin by praying as simple prayer like this and mean it from your heart.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for sending your son Jesus to die for my sins. I confess that I have sinned against you and I am in need of a Savior. I ask that you would forgive my sins. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead. I ask that you would make me new and help me live my life for you.
